APPEARANCE:
Eli is quite the dashing man with a flare for that just right unkempt look. He's rather tall, standing at about 6 feet, and lean with clear cut muscles that he likes to show off. Considering his fondness for showing off his muscles he finds every excuse not to wear a shirt, but when he's actually wearing one it's usually pretty formal looking. Button-up shirts with vests and quite often a tie are what the man favors. Sometimes when he doesn't feel like brushing his hair (which happens more than he would admit) he throws on a specific hat.
The way that Eli holds himself paints a different kind of picture though, as sometimes he looks like a big child. Outrageous facial expressions, flailing body movements, and fake emotional breakdowns are just a part of what makes this man so peculiar. Most out of place with the man are his oddly emotional eyes that have been said to strike adoration into someone with a simple glance.
PERSONALITY:
It's pretty easy to mistake Eli for a carefree and childish man. At surface value you can see he's quick to joke and loves to be the center of attention. In order to make someone laugh Eli will go to extreme lengths, often making a huge fool of himself in the process.
When it comes right down to it Eli is a very conflicted man though. He tries so hard to help others so he doesn't need to think about his own problems. It wasn't a childhood event or some life or death situation that caused it, but Eli hates thinking he'll screw anything up. When he can he'll opt out of things so he doesn't screw everything up, but he always masks that with his childishness. Fear of messing up also led to a fear of actually connecting with anyone else, which means if Eli feels he's getting too close to someone else he'll evade and find a way out of it.
BIOGRAPHY:
Eli had a pretty chaotic childhood, but not a bad one. His mother was a con artist from the Bass district and his father was a rich target from the Strings district. After many fateful encounters between the two they fell in love. Argumentative love, but love none the less. Remus Eli Irving was born shortly after, doted upon by only the best of maids and butlers.
Not being very attached to his parents (one of the only times he would see them would be during holidays and the two would be bickering about money the whole time) made Remus a little affection hungry, so he'd often do ridiculous things to get attention. Since he was a child it did backfire quite often, getting him into more trouble than anything else.
By the time he was eighteen he was more than eager to leave the nest so he got a job in Soprano district working on the farms. It didn't take long for the young man to raise enough money to entirely support himself, but in that time he got his eyes on a particular young woman in the district. Her name was Luci and she was a year younger than Remus, which made her 19 at the time they met.
The romance was a complete whirlwind and in less than a year they were engaged. In what felt like an even shorter time they learned that Luci was pregnant and even though it wasn't planned they felt like making a family would be perfect for them. Getting through the pregnancy wasn't very hard luckily and the baby was born without issue. Remus had never felt so much affection in his entire life as he did once he had started his family with Luci.
Their little baby, a rambunctious boy, became all Remus could think about for years. He spent a lot of time playing with his baby boy and they forged a wonderful bond as he grew. Luci couldn't be happier either, but she decided that she would get a job in Remus' stead so he could be a stay at home dad for a while.
Sixteen years passed and Remus and Luci swapped working and staying home to form a good bond with their child. Though Remus and his son were very close he could tell that the mother's touch was more effective, which he didn't let bother him because he knew just how wonderful a woman Luci really was. During one of the stints where it was Luci working, Remus was home with his teen son playing some games when horrible news came.
While she was pushing the border of the city for specific plant-life Luci was attacked by some monsters and unfortunately didn't survive. Remus' son was furious when he heard the news, but Remus was just frozen in agony. After that day Remus and his son began to drift apart, as his son was more focused on anger than pain and Remus could hardly hold himself together every time he thought about his fallen wife.
Without a word of warning Remus' son left him alone, only a note explaining that he couldn't stay at home anymore left behind. From that day forth Remus changed entirely, putting on a playful face like he used to when he was younger. The man got into magic after that and in a two year span learned he was extremely gifted. Gifted enough to become the tier 2 muse, which was rather impressive considering Remus never had any interest in magic before his son left him. That was also the time that he refused to be called by his first name, choosing his middle in it's stead.
Another nickname he received from his ridiculous outward nature was Spunk, which became very popular about Sanctuary. Eli hasn't spoken with his son since he left home, nor has he seen him.
