Luna Cub

15

Recital Clan Messanger Boy

APPEARANCE:
Tomonari is merely average height, standing at 5'8" tall, weighing 149 lbs., which is nothing impressive. As he is rather thin, although not anorexic thin thankfully, the boy doesn't really have any mass that shows him to be intimidating by any means (or any scars for that matter). Simply enough, he has a dark skin color (more along the lines of someone of aboriginal Australian descent for a real life comparison). When it comes to his facial features, Tomonari has more of a thin, rectangular shape to his face, in the sense that he looks a bit older than he is. His eyes are a medium shade of green, and his hair is brown. The hair is held in a ponytail that spreads out a little across his back, held together by a gray band. On each side of his head, where his sideburns would be, are thick strands of hair, each about the height of his head. His bangs only reach up to his eyebrows. On his face rests a pair of thin frammed, black glasses, which are more or less always on his face, due to not so good eyesight.
His clothing is of course, that of the Recital Clan. The black, long sleeved shirt he wears has a gold lining around the collar, and going down the front center of his shirt. From his point of view, starting from the left side, a curve design sprouts out, with the next further down the shirt, and on the right side. This continues twice more. Tomonari also wears a pair of black pants, held up by a brown belt with a gray buckle. On his feet is a pair of tan sandals. Resting on his left side is a tan, large satchel, which holds various things inside it, such as a thin, black robe with a hood. Tomonari's tan, acoustic guitar has a single, black strap, which is slung over the boy's shoulders, in front of the satchel's strap, and placed so that it makes a sort lf 'X' shape.
When it comes to a mask, which Tomonari will rarely be seen wearing, except on special occasions, is gold in color. It is shaped to resemble a lion, albeit without a mane. Around his neck is a necklace of sorts, only it's nothing more than a black string, holding five different fangs, a combination of animal and monster fangs, to be exact.
PERSONALITY:
The most blunt way to put it, is that he is a timid kid- a REALLY, timid kid. When it comes to pretty much everybody, Tomonari shys away quite easily, no matter how nice such a person is, even to the point of him being scared. This causes him to more or less make up an excuse and walk away, although it's rather easy to tell he's lying when making an excuse to not speak any further. If someone who he actually trusts quite a bit, such as his father, is next to him, Tomonari has shown to even hide behind someone as well during encounters with new people. As such, it is generally easy to frighten this kid too. More often than not, Tomonari will flee at the first sign of a fight, or sit there paralyzed with fear.
If someone gets the boy to open up a little, he will of course, tend to speak a little more often. However, whenever he speaks, it usually involves quite a bit of stuttering, and shows a lack of confidence just from his voice. Fearing that he'll upset someone, Tomonari also has a tendency to apologize profusely, even over things that are obviously not his fault. Once he manages to get used to someone, however, Tomonari may also begin to stick close to such a person, although this would never get too far, as the only person Tomonari has become extremely attatched to is his father, so it's not likely he'll move to someone else. When it comes to things such as joking around, don't count on Tomonari actually getting it. This only confuses him, and shows how little social experience he has outside of the Recital Clan.
As for things he enjoys in his spare time, some of those things includes playing his guitar, cooking, and reading. Since he has not had much access to books, Tomonari tends to reread a book several times over, hoping to find something new to learn each time. His knowledge in general is more or less only things read in books, and basic survival skills, the latter learned over his current lifetime. Ideas stemming from various experiences though, such as his beliefs, are quite difficult for Tomonari to express, so he tends to not say anything, and usually just go along with what someone says (luckily for him though, he has at least some sense of right and wrong).
BIOGRAPHY:
((Note- blood relation to Kieve was agreed upon by Sei.))
Being born outside of Symphony, Tomonari was, and still is, a member of the Recital Clan. The one that would have been his mother, Maria, could not bear a child due to bodily complications. It troubled both Tomonari's mother, as well as his father Dane. However, in an act agreed upon by both the chief of the clan, and the woman who gave birth to the chief's son, Kieve, said woman became a substitue mother, although Dane remained as Tomonari's biological father. Nobody but the three adults involved knew about this act, and Tomonari was never told about this as well. Despite not really looking like Maria, the boy accepted her as his real mother, not once thinking that he was the child of another woman.
From an early age, Tomonari had a timid streak going, becoming scared of quite a few things, but nothing that was too hindering. Granted, this was a bit ironic considering his father was a Defender, and a rather intimidating one at that. Still, Tomonari was able to grow attatched to both of his parents, and didn't show any real preference between the two. Due to the lack of anything outstanding about the boy, when he was eight years old, more or less became the clan's 'messanger boy', so to speak. Tomonari seemed to have a knack for running a good speed, so it more or less fit him, and he didn't complain. Although he generally delivered whatever message or item to the recipient, and left without really stopping to talk.
When the boy was nine years old, things took a pretty big turn for both him and his father. Since the clan was not within the walls of Symphony at the time, it was likely that monsters would attack at times. Well, this was one of those times. Granted, there were the Defenders and the like who could defeat monsters, but one of them got lucky during this encounter. Coming upon Tomonari and Maria, one of the monsters swiped at the boy's 'mother', who was attempting to protect her son. With another couple strikes, the woman was killed by the same monster, right before Tomonari's father caught up to it. In rage, his father killed the monster without mercy, making sure it stayed dead. Seeing this happen caused Tomonari to become more fearful of things at this point, which only added to his timid streak.
At this point, he slowly became more attatched to his father, to the point of Tomonari rarely going anywhere alone unless it was for messanger boy duty. Even then though, it took a bit longer than he used to. This act of isolation, so to speak, worried his father quite a bit, and when Tomonari was eleven years old, his father started to train him in how to fight. In theory, this should've made the boy more confident, although Tomonari didn't really enjoy fighting all that much, and the most he ever got out of it were the basics. The times where his father actually taught him how to fight were few as well, but Tomonari ended up following his father around. Of course, he stayed out of the way, but it became apparent that the boy definately wasn't going to leave his father's side anytime soon.
As he grew up, he seemed to have taken interest in playing the guitar, although he hesitated at first. It took quite a bit of provoking from his father before Tomonari went with a couple other members of the clan to learn how to play the guitar. There weren't many lessons at first, since they had to try and make Tomonari more comfortable being around anyone other than his father. Thankfully, it worked at one point, and the boy seemed to have calmed down immensely. Of course, this only pertained to the members of the clan he was with, and his timid nature still applied to pretty much everyone else. It was also during this time that Tomonari had taken up an interest in cooking, as well as reading whatever books the clan actually had. The books he has read numerous times, due to the lack of books in general.
For the next few years, it was the same routine, albeit with minor changes here and there. Those minor changes more or less had to deal with growing up sorts of things, however. It wasn't until Recital moved to Symphony that things really took another rather big change. Due to the new lifestyle that the clan had to deal with, it became apparent that the clan members would each separate into different districts, and Tomonari and his father ended up in the Percussion district. This of course, would have made it harder for the boy to do his job as the messanger boy, but was at least given the correct addresses to those that remained in Recital Clan. Another thing occurred that would alter Tomonari a bit.
While out with his father, they encountered an old woman that appeared to be rather sick. After some thought and the like, Tomonari's father determined to inform the clan's healers of this, and hopefully get the woman back to health. However, it would do nothing more than ease her pain. Still, Tomonari did as he was told, and since the old woman was staying in his apartment, the teenager administered the medicine which he obtained to her. Due to the fact that the boy ended up remaining in the apartment most of the time, he eventually began to sit and talk with this old woman. She apparently knew how to use Aria magic, something that she found rather useless to her at this point. Tomonari didn't bother asking about the magic, and continued to help care for her.
About three weeks went by, and the old woman was on the verge of death. On her deathbed, the woman had asked for Tomonari who, although hesitant, obeyed. With help from one of the clan's magic trainers, the old woman entrusted her Aria magic to Tomonari, who didn't know what to do with it. Before he could say anything, the old woman died, it being her time to go. Luckily, since Tomonari was trusted with the magic, he was not considered a magic stealer.
With that, he is currently in Symphony, more or less trying to do what he can, keeping up with his duty within the Recital Clan. However, the teenager continues to attempt to maybe adapt to Symphony, although that isn't exactly going too well.
Destiny forgotten,
SKILL(S):
- He can run pretty fast, granted, not at superhuman speeds and the like, but if in danger, Tomonari can push himself a little extra to get away.
- Again, he doesn't exactly have formal training, but he is pretty decent at playing his guitar, as well as having a decent singing voice.
- The only other thing is that he is a pretty good cook, although lacks the necessary training to improve himself even further. This also ties in to some basic survival skills as well, if needed.
POWER(S):
- Aria magic, although more often than not, he'll be using Breeze, Hydro, and Frost.
- He has two slots remaining for magic.
WEAPON(S):
Tomonari has is a tan, acoustic guitar. It is used in order to cast magic, and the instrument requires it be played in order to do as such.
As for an actual melee weapon, well, he more or less kicks his opponents, although considering he isn't too good of a fighter, he can only get, say, a three or four hit combo at most, for lack of better description.
Even though I kept going.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
Being left alone in his apartment was no big deal, since he could be trusted. Tomonari was quiet most of the time, and if he played his guitar, it usually wasn't too disruptive. However, today was a slightly different day when it came to his actions. Again, it was nothing disruptive, although it was, for lack of better description, strange. The couch came with the apartment, albeit, nothing fancy in the least. He was staring at it again, unsure about this furniture that he could use to sit or lay on. Scratching the back of his head, Tomonari sighed, and slowly reached out a hand, and poked the armrest. He jumped back in response, expecting it to do something. Upon staring at it for a few moments, the couch made no action of any sort. and Tomonari eventually calmed down.
"Th-That... w-was probably pointless..", he said to himself, blushing at what he just did. He was told that a couch wasn't going to do anything to him, but Tomonari was way too paranoid half the time. Although considering the fact that he lived outside of Symphony for more or less his entire life so far, this unsure feeling probably made sense. In any case, the boy turned around, and slowly sat on the couch. It was soft, that much Tomonari was sure of. Maybe it wasn't as bad as he thought originally. After taking another look around from where he sat, the apartment wasn't much to look at, although the simplicity of it helped Tomonari to get used to his new surroundings.
Picking up his guitar, which was on the ground next to him, he held it in left-handed position, due to the fact that he was both left handed, and the guitar was made for a left handed person. Tomonari then played a small tune on it, more or less to adjust himself to playing it again. From what he remembered, his father wasn't going to be out for much longer, and so, the boy could stand being alone for some time longer. Playing his guitar would keeping Tomonari company during that time, and it helped that the boy was patient to an extent.
