It had been far too long since Brahne had left her new "castle" of a mansion. She decided to flex her legs and walk back to the Bass district, not just for leisure, but to find more people like her. The Queen knew that she herself could not overthrow the city, so it was decided that she would make some "acquaintances" and house them in her castle. Zorn and Thorn were running about, hopefully gathering intel on the city and it's inhabitants, more specifically the Elegies that Brahne had her eyes set on. If those two clowns could come up with anything, then Brahne' life would be much easier. She knew they had amazing powers, but what she wanted to know was what kind of powers they had so she could prepare herself more readily. Thus the trip to Bass. If Zorn and Thorn couldn't find anything, then Brahne would at least gather some forces up before she planned an attack.
Instead of going to the more ragged bar, The Simplistic Melody, the Queen decided to take her stroll through the Echoing Rhapsody in search for a new partner in crime. The Melody had such dark and dank people, which, don't get her wrong, she loves evil people as much as the next evil Queen, but this time she decided to search in a more diverse setting instead of picking up the baddest of the bad. Overall skill is what she was looking for, not brute force. Obviously she wanted someone who would comply and the drunken bastards of the Melody are not the easiest to get to listen. She would know, she spent most of her time there when she first arrived to Symphony via the requiem.
It was slightly reminiscing to tread the path she once did as a student in the Sanctuary. Nothing seemed to have changed from the time she spent while aligned with the Sanctuary, which was awkward because it had been so long before Brahne had left her new castle. Nonetheless, these thoughts of being good again were shaken quickly from her mind as she arrived to the Rhapsody, people abound from all over Symphony. The large square was rather bustling and more neatly kept than the rest of the district, even though it still looked somewhat run down. People were walking through each of the passageways to other parts od the district, but Brahne kept her pace within the square, catching the eyes of a few random tones, but none that she figured would suffice to what she was looking for.
Her fan waved slowly as she circled the plaza's border, eyes scanning each member of the area before the next person was locked in her gaze. She tried to make it seem like she was only casually walking and when others would look at her, she would look away as not to be caught. Granted, this is Brahne, and being nonchalant was definitely not her specialty.
It seemed like forever since she had arrived and Brahne's patience was starting to wear thin. Surely at such a gathering ofp people there was someone who would suit her needs. She began to worry that there might not be anyone else who wanted to overthrow the city, that she may be the only person here that has defied the Sanctuary. Her thoughts began to mix and swirl and she began to worry that she was alone... with Zorn and Thorn... She began to worry even more now, and soon found a bench to rest on. She had been on her feet all day looking for some dastardly individual to follow her home and begin to think ways of overthrowing the Sanctuary and Symphony itself. Of course, she looked calm and somewhat collected, but on the inside she was terrified of the fact that she might be alone in this quest of domination.

Well this was certainly a turn of events. Zorn and Thorn had set out by order of Brahne to gather information, not entirely a new concept, but somehow they had been split up. Without Thorn, Zorn felt somewhat lost and out of place. The twins made a specific effort not to part, as they were of course two halves of a whole. At the very least, Zorn had accomplished part of his mission. Going back to Brahne empty handed was never a good idea after all and Zorn might have stayed out all day if he needed to just to have something to say when he saw that horrifyingly large woman.
It didn't exactly take the tiny twin long to find the woman either. Of course a giant large blue woman wasn't really normal, even for Bass standards, so the hushed conversations (and the not so hushed ones) led Zorn straight to her. At first the jester just followed the woman in the shadows, not sure he wanted to approach right away. It would be easier if Thorn was there as well, mostly because they were always together and Brahne would be shouting about how Zorn was alone if he just trudged up right then and there.
At least Zorn wasn't put off by his surroundings. In all of his many many many years alive this jester had certainly seen horrific things. Done horrific things even. He told himself that he would look around a little bit more in attempts of finding Thorn and perhaps snagging a bit more information in the process. The jester shuffled around Echoing Rhapsody in the shadows, scoping every stranger that towered above him.
Most people didn't seem to even take any notice in the little blue thing scurrying about under their feet. Zorn couldn't complain about his because it certainly made his job a lot easier. Even if it was annoying to be so small sometimes. He flapped his arms a little and made some frustrated noises that he had yet to come across his twin as he continued to roam. It didn't really take more than five minutes for the little jester to get bored of looking. The streak of blue swerved around people and scurried all the way back to where he had last saw the queen.
She was sitting now, looking somewhat disturbed. Had something happened that would lead to Zorn getting into trouble? I hate being in trouble. He straightened out and rushed over to stand before Brahne. "I am back," Zorn announced, adding the fact that he was without Thorn silently.

The depression of solitude began to settle in more, since Brahne's quest for more adversaries had come up as total failure. Maybe she should have gone to the bar instead. Some there seemed almost eager to join up for a good fight. Brahne sighed. Nonetheless, as she sat and fanned herself she kept her gaze open for those that looked like they would want to overthrow the city.
Time passed rather quickly before Brahne began to think she was seeing things. Out of the corner of her eyes she would see glimpses of blue blurs running between citizens, and she deemed it as herself losing her mind from troubling so hard. The fan began to beat harder as her head began to hurt in a slight headache, wincing at the little blue blur that was confusing her more often now. To battle it, she simply closed her eyes. It helped remarkably, and the fanning slowed as well. Homeostasis had kicked in and everything was fine. She opened her eyes when she was startled by her miniature jester's appearance and confirmation that he had returned.
"Zorn! Do not approach me as such!" The jester had his own creepy ways, but for her to have finally calm herself down and then be startled as so... It was just madness. Her heart was racing and she knew she had drawn attention when she had yelled at Zorn. Allowing herself to calm down... yet again, she collected her thoughts and remembered that Zorn himself was out on a mission to find intelligence around the city.
"So tell me Zorn... What have you found?" Her tone was strict as it always was to the little jester, with a little more demanding than usual. It wasn't too far afterwards that she had realized his crimson counterpart was missing. This, for some reason, enraged her. She was only ever calm when the duo was together. "ZORN! Where is Thorn?" Heads that were not already staring at Brahne were now turned to her as her stern voice echoed throughout the plaza. She had no problem with people staring at her as such, they have done so since her rebirth. Her gaze was fixed on the little blue clown, and nothing else, while she waited slightly less than patiently for his response.

A trouble, this is. Along with Zorn, Thorn had been ordered to gather information about the leaders of the city. Elegies, they were? Unfortunately for the little jester, good with names he was not. After stumbling about the district for a while, listening in on conversations and asking simple questions where he could, Thorn had a small base of information to work off of. Not much more than Brahne might already understand, he suspected.
Maybe Zorn had better luck than Thorn had. Even if the other twin did find out more, Thorn wasn't entirely sure he knew where he was supposed to meet back up. Echoing Rhapsody, Thorn knew of course, but where he wasn't positive. At any rate, he was in no rush and didn't mind sneaking about for a bit more information. Thus far what he did hear didn't seem to say much about the Elegies beyond the fact that they weren't well liked anywhere. This perhaps could be of use to Brahne in her desires.
If the queen could play off of the displeasure with the Elegies she might be able to win over the people. Assuming of course that she had the ability to win over anyone. Thorn wouldn't follow that train of thought any further though, because the queen's desires were his desires. Such was the life and work of a minion. Zorn felt the same way of course. The twins felt the same way about many things because they were a single entity.
Not many people would be able to understand that. Foolish they are. The jester wobbled about, flapping his little arms as he hunted for information. Being without Zorn as he searched was a little awkward and made it as if Thorn couldn't focus entirely. Unsettling feeling it was. It was probably that feeling that rushed the little jester towards finding his twin and the queen. Quickly abandoned his plan to lag a little for more information the jester had.
And it didn't take long to find the two. It looked as if Zorn was getting scolded by the queen. Thorn could even hear her shouting loudly, asking where Thorn was. The perfect cue. "Majesty I am here," Thorn said as he rushed over. Hopefully he wasn't lagging too terribly.

As suspected, the queen was quite angry. The first thing she did after Zorn appeared before her was to curse him and shout. This didn't exactly surprise the small jester though. A split second passed where Zorn began wondering just what it was he should retort with but groveling or apologizing would probably be the best bet. Couldn't get in trouble for that, right? "Sorry your majesty!" He piped up quickly, flapping his arms in alarm.
There was no calm in the ways of the jester. Despite his best efforts, Zorn often over-reacted or overplayed his emotions. The jester wasn't sure why, but mostly because he didn't feel like delving too deep into it. Zorn didn't really delve too deep into a lot of things though, so despite being so old there was still a lot he was ignorant of. What a clown.
The queen continued by asking what it was that he had found in her usual strict voice. Zorn got his inquisitive look on his face as he tried to recall all of the useful things he had found for her. It would do no good if he forgot something at the last moment, Zorn thought. Just as he thought he had his thoughts in order he was startled into dropping them all again. Thorn. Zorn knew that was going to get him into trouble!
Where was he when Zorn needed--- His other half quickly butted in and announced he had made it. That was good, Zorn thought as he peeked over to his twin, because the queen certainly wasn't in any good mood. Not that the queen was ever in a very good mood. "What took you so long?" Zorn shouted at his other half, "Don't keep her majesty waiting!"
Maybe if he shouted enough at Thorn the queen would be really distracted that Zorn had scared her and showed up without Thorn. Then Thorn would be in trouble and not Zorn. Probably not the nicest thing to do, but the twins weren't exactly super nice to each other. "Tell the queen what you found out!" Zorn barked, hoping that if Thorn did it first he could regather his thoughts.

After her rant, Brahne sank back into the bench, as her obese form settled and widened over the bench itself. Her right arm fluctuated the fan at a suitable breeze as she stared into the pits of Zorn's heart, waiting for an answer. One eyebrow cocked, showed that the queen has already been tested, and further annoyances would send her over the edge, and no one wants an overly large blue woman who is craving for power to be enraged. she would just draw simply too much attention, and fighting said urge to go ballistic on Zorn was tough enough. If people began to talk, then she might have become uncovered to those who would stop her in her tracks for domination. Simply put, she's biting her tongue and fanning herself to calm down.
Zorn's apology most certainly did not attract any less attention than they had. His navy blue arms fluttered in the air above him, and nearly every head in the square was turned at the sound of the fabric rustling. Brahne wanted to smack the jester for drawing attention, but that would cause more havoc, and the whole cycle would repeat until the end of time. "Sorry, will not cut it, Zorn. Out with it? What have you found?!" Brahne's voice was strict as ever, and her teeth were beginning to grind together as her response came to an end.
Suddenly, however, Brahne's smile was shown upon the little blue clown and his newly returned other red half. All was better in the world at her renewed hope that there may have been some intelligence shoveled up from the darkest parts of the city. "Oh! Thorn. It;s nice to see you again." For some reason, she was in a better mood now that both of her minions were present. Only after perking up on her bench a tad did her blue lackey force her red lackey onto the stage.
The Queen's eyes glistened as she locked her death-gaze and awkward smile on Thorn. Most of the time she had troubles translating what he had to say, but nothing would matter if he had produced some sort of leeway on which way the three could go on their march to Domination. Her fan began it's restful cycle again, as she waited for her little red clown's response. "Do tell Thorn, what have you found?"

Yelling. Oh if it wasn't from the queen Thorn was often being barked at by his other half. They bickered often, yes, but never about anything terribly important. Common arguments were usually 'The right way that is not!' or some other such babble. Thorn hadn't yet broken the habit though, mostly because he didn't want to lose against Zorn. In retrospect it was probably a little crazy considering they were two halves of a whole, but that didn't mean they had to agree.
"Kept her waiting I did not!" Thorn barked right back at his twin. This was just like the blue-clad bother, Thorn thought with a scowl. If things went even slightly wrong Zorn could always blame it on Thorn and that was enough to drive the little thing batty. For good measure he waved his flappy little arm at his brother, acting like he was about to hit him over the head.
The fight could have continued of course, but there were other fat pressing matters to attend to. The queen's anger towards Zorn seemed to cool considerably when Thorn was there. For some reason that didn't surprise the jester. It wasn't entirely uncommon for her to fall into that awkwardly calm mood when she had people to order around from what Thorn could tell. The only time he hadn't seen her like that was when the people she was ordering had already failed her once.
Still hard to handle however was the strength of the queen's razor sharp stare. Put on the spot by his other half, Thorn was supposed to report his findings first. That was pretty unfortunate because it meant Zorn probably didn't have anything too helpful and hoped his brother did. "Found a few things I did," Thorn started somewhat nervously.
"Four Elegies there are. A Leader, A magic specialist, a brute, and a researcher are as they are known, but only one for which names I have," Thorn stated knowingly. It wouldn't be enough considering Brahne already saw the elegies, as everyone did, in the revival process. Of course most students had no more than a mere minutes with them after their revival. "Astraea Selah the leader is, lives in percussion she does."

The anger that was directed at Zorn quickly cooled when Thorn appeared. Zorn wondered about why it was the queen did such a thing, but he wasn't in any mood or place to start pondering it at all. That was assuming that Zorn really wanted to figure it out, but he didn't. It didn't matter to the jester because he had far better things to attend to, as he usually did. The work of a lackey was never done.
Luckily it seemed like Thorn did have something to say, but Zorn still kind of wanted to bicker with him. He had been late and that made the queen mad, but if he would have tried to argue that any more it probably would have backfired and led to more shouting. The blue twin groaned internally and tried to focus on what Thorn was saying.
The red half didn't seem to have terribly much, but neither did Zorn. Didn't exactly bode well. Thorn at least had the name of one, which was a good start, but he still wished that there was more. Once his twin finished Zorn began to flap his arms wildly, knowing it was his turn to speak but not knowing where to start. "Well let me see where to start," Zorn muttered as if he really needed to think about it for a long moment.
"What I have for you is..." The jester paused unsteadily. What he couldn't say was that he had found nothing, even if that was the case. "There's unrest in the city that you can use. The people are angry with the Elegies for what they've done." Zorn wasn't sure if the queen knew or not yet. She wasn't the best with information or paying attention from what Zorn saw. That's why she had people who worked for her.
"Brining people back from the dead doesn't sit well with the people. You should be able to play on their unrest quite easily," The jester said thoughtfully. It didn't feel like enough, but the facts were there and if Brahne could use that unrest she could control the city in no time.
