APPEARANCE:
Lanky and angular, Lea is the short and sweet version of the spidery, cloaked Axel. Sleeveless shirts and roomy pants make for a slight pear shape to his overall appearance. He tends to wear loose clothing, preferring warm, light colors to anything blue or outright black, and wouldn’t be caught dead without a hideously ugly scarf. His hair is red and defies gravity to an extent that is staggering, giving it an appearance similar to flames. But probably the most striking part of him is the bright jade fire to his eyes.
PERSONALITY:
Lea is a kid with attitude. He’s quick to turn a phrase on its ear and poke fun at his friends and enemies alike, but if he’s playing it safe there’s a subtlety to his lances that makes it hard to pin him down. He’s not an outright bad kid, if a mischievous one, and while he’s more prone to close friendships that have that affectionate malice about them, and most of his friends will feel his barbs from time to time, he can also be coaxed into more cordial relationships. Lea’s little tendernesses only hint at the depths of devotion he’s capable of, and he’ll stand by his friends to the death, but if they turn on him for long enough he will eventually turn back on them. But this never means he’s done trying.
He’s also adventurous and impulsive, and while this can get him into trouble he’s not exactly stupid about it. In fact he’s pretty smart, but only for his age, and this could eventually turn into the calculated precision that belonged to his Nobody. But that depends entirely on how Lea matures in the ten years he has before he reaches Axel’s age. As evidenced in his Nobody, Lea is fond of sleeping in to a ridiculous extent.
Most importantly and above all else, Lea wants to be remembered. He spreads himself around in memories, determined to make an impression on as many people as he can, because if he’s never forgotten he will be immortal.
BIOGRAPHY:
Lea grew up in Radiant Garden, a relative paradise with just enough conflict to call for castle guards. He was best friends with another boy his age, far more mature but less fun than himself, named Isa. Despite appearing to hate one another from time to time, and filling their idle moments with sparring here and there or else serious confrontations and shouting matches when they felt like it, they had a truly close bond. Determination and curiosity had them thrown out of Radiant Garden Castle on more than one occasion, but Lea tended to make up for it with their “icing on the cake”—a treat of sea salt ice cream between friends. That ritual was so important to him that it lived on even when he became a Nobody.
But before any of that, Lea and Isa encountered a stranger with a wooden key by the name of Ven. Ven was depressed over something that Lea didn’t actually bother to ask about, but he didn’t turn down an invitation to bloody one another up, so Lea whipped out his frisbees and went to town. He lost, probably because Ven was professionally trained, and Isa poked fun at him just like a best friend should. Lea whined about it but took it anyway, and they parted from Ven to make another go at the whole raid the castle thing.
At some indeterminate point past that, Radiant Garden was attacked. Lea became a Heartless, and his body was left behind to become the Nobody Axel. So split, Lea’s Heartless was defeated by Sora long before the Organization even came into play, but this didn’t free his body, which was still searching and joined the Organization alongside Isa’s Nobody in order to find what remained of Lea. Maybe because Lea had never grown up, Axel was drawn to kids closer to his age, and also the two who happened to possess close connections with Sora’s strong heart. Roxas in particular looked just like Ven, whom Axel may or may not have remembered from the encounter with Lea. The other was Xion, but ultimately Xion was destroyed through her own intentions and the fact that she was sapping power from Roxas, whom she deeply cared for. Roxas, in turn, left the Organization in order to find out why the Keyblade had chosen him. Axel fought all of this the entire time, but failed, and when the Organization ordered him to destroy Roxas it took realizing that Roxas would never be the same to make him attack with the intent to kill. He failed here too, turning tail on the Organization once DiZ’s ally, Riku, let him go instead of following the order to destroy him. So Axel kidnapped Kairi in an attempt to bring Roxas out again, intending to consume Sora’s heart in darkness as it was before. But then in the vestiges of his old home, Axel met with Sora and tried to tell him the Organization’s true goal. Saïx interrupted him, and Axel ran from him and the Organization’s lackeys until they cornered him and Sora both in a space between worlds. There, Axel perished by his own design.
Now that Axel’s Heartless and Nobody have both been destroyed, Lea has been resurrected. It’s been ten years since he was the boy who fought with Ven, but because he was split early on, he hasn’t existed as a full person for that long. Or this could be because he was brought to this world. Whatever the reason, Lea’s goal is to return home if he can, but in the meantime he’s willing to work with the Sanctuary’s classes in order to learn the kind of fire magic that will defend himself and his home from another attack like that. True to Somebody-Nobody form, he has no memory of what transpired as Axel—only dim feelings and instincts, and this or that faded recollection that appears to him in dreams.
You still play with toy swords? That’s cute.
SKILL(S):
Being lithe and quick on his feet, Lea has an interest in combat and sparring that has manifested between him and friends in the past. As is, he’s currently better at dodging than striking, but he has instincts that he can’t explain and now and again they can make him pull something very advanced out of reflex.
POWER(S):
Lea currently doesn’t have any noteworthy powers beyond biting sarcasm and a sinfully annoying catchphrase. But he’s interested in fire, so he’ll focus on fire magic in his studies.
WEAPON(S):
Lea’s only weapons for the moment are his twin frisbees. But as he gets better, he’ll start picking up more deadly, interestingly chakram-shaped weaponry, focusing on the fireproof aspects.
I’ll see ya when I see ya.

Jade eyes narrowed at the frisbee that had just turned the soft web of flesh between Lea's thumb and forefinger pink with irritation, but he stopped rubbing it and hopped down from the stone wall to collect his grinning plaything anyway. Fire didn't care if you got burned, he'd learned that much from his training (when he showed), and the little points on his toy posed the same threat. Not that Lea thought of it as a toy--against Isa, and sometimes for him, the thing became a weapon.
Where was Isa, anyway?
As Lea stood back up, scarf straightening with him, he caught sight of what looked like an argument going on over by the gardens. One of the scientists, tall and flowing--Lea knew those guys, they were always wearing those whatsit, white cloak things--was stalking back and forth irritably, occasionally gesticulating and raising his voice, but Lea was too far away to make out what he was saying even then. He got a little closer, peering around the wall, and spotted a tiny child of a researcher watching his colleague rant. The kid was easily far younger than Lea himself, but sat ramrod straight with an impenetrable gaze. Far to his left, another one all but reclined on a bench by the flowers, silver hair spilling over his shoulders and eyes locked on some sort of scientific journal.
"...that we cannot possibly maintain! It's suicide!"
"It's necessary," the boy said in an ironclad tone.
The blond one stopped pacing, and Lea looked to him out of instinct. His expression was painful to look at--torn and broken, as if the matter at hand was wrenching his heart out of his chest. Unbidden, Lea felt his mouth drop open in a tiny sound that might have been empathy as his own heart responded. It couldn't possibly have been enough to be heard, but maybe the movement drew the scientist's eye.
Chlorine eyes met jade.
Lea ran.
