Dax could count on one hand the amount of jobs she had declined, since she had started marketing out her 'skills.' One of those jobs would involve her busting into a very prominent and economically important family, and instilling some fear and possibly killing one or two members, who made sure families like Dax's didn't stay in trouble if they were caught. Sure, the person she was supposed to kill was a horrible person, but the greater good (for people like Dax) was to decline the job....and eventually 'discourage' the person searching for that job from ever trying something like that again. The second job she declined would have had her interrogating someone in her own extended family, which Dax might have well just slit her own throat. The Wall-Flowers were not happy with Dax's father because of a job he was a part of and because of that Dax's mother and herself were out of favor. If she showed up out of nowhere and interrogated a member of the family, they would spare no expense to rip her apart.
She had thought about not taking this job, simply because it took her away from her comfort zone. Dax rarely left the Bass District, simply because that was were most of her work was, but also because she did not know how to blend in as well in these environments. However, she was here because her target spent almost every evening at this spa. Dax needed to learn the location of a 'safe house' of this woman's husband. He was in hiding because he was filtering money into his bank account that wasn't his in the first place. His boss was the wiser, and ordered a hit on him, Dax was the first to take that job, but his location was unknown and the guy had already caught wiff that someone was after him. The selfish bastard hadn't told his wife that people were after him and just disappeared. That was three days ago. By now this woman should be a little suspicious or afraid, but the woman was from the String District, silver spoon fed from birth. She wouldn't know common sense if it messed up her hair.
Finding out what times she went to the spa was easy. Her staff at home was almost as ignorant as she was, and told her more than she needed to know. Once she got to the spa, she managed to land a job on the spot because one of the newer members of staff just came down with a horrible stomach illness that had her vomiting all over the place. Most of Dax's job that day had been to clean up the vomit, but Dax had touched grosser things with her hands before. At about two-thirty on the dot, the pristine woman walked in and Dax easily found the correct room.
She waited until the mud bath was almost over until she slid into the room and sat down next to the woman. She told her the story that it was her first job and she was nervous, and the woman told her the backstories on almost every staff member in the place and how they would take good care of her. The conversation easily went from their to Dax's 'husband' and the woman mentioned her own husband had left a quick note that he was leaving to go to his mother's house in the Percussion district, Dax crooned about how the place looks at night and the woman mentioned the view from the old woman's fourth floor apartment.
Dax slid out of the room with a faint smile on her face after the conversation. She was about to leave when someone in the room in front of her called for her to come in. She thought about just walking out, but that would raise attention. She slid the door behind her and looked at the person that called her. "My name is Soon-Ji, how may I help you?" Her voice perfectly mocked the perky helpful tone of her 'co-workers.'
