The Magic System!

Since this is a special musically gifted site, we're modifying how magic looks and works. Through the aide of any musical device of voice magic can be cast. If you're ever lost on what magic is what level in terms of the games just check back here. Also described in this system will be how to take on Etudes and have your characters learn new magical skills.


THE LEVELS:

• Harmony -
  

  Harmony is the broad term for all white magic. There are special titles for all the white magics, but it is known mainly as the harmonic savior music.

  
  
• Aria -
  

  Aria is the equivalent of the first level black magic skills. An example would be fire. Those who can command Arias can only do the black magic forms because Aria does not apply to any white magic.

  
  
• Interlude -
  

  This is equivalent to the second level of black magic skills. An example would be fira. As with the arias, interludes only apply to black magic and not white.

  
  
• Tempo -
  

  Tempo is the broad term for all time magic. There are special titles for all the time magic, but it is known mainly as tempo music.

  
  
• Finale -
  

  This is equivalent to the third level of black magic skills. An example would be firaga. As with the arias, finales only apply to black magic and not white.

  
  
• Encore -
  

  This is equivalent to the final level of black magic skills. An example would be firaja. As with the arias, encores only apply to black magic and not white.

  
  
• Forbidden -
  

  This is a specific selection of magic that holds mysterious and extremely dangerous possibilities. An example of forbidden magic within the square games would be holy, though it takes a different name in this world.

  
  

Etude Challenge!

When you want your character to learn a specific kind of magic you will have to face an Etude. You can only be challenged to an Etude by the specific muse whose magic you want to master. (If the muse is open it will be run exclusively by a staffer) After getting the permission of the muse who you want your character to learn from you must take it to an admin. The admin will then start the thread and brief the muse on how to go about the challenge. After the challenge your character will either fail and learn nothing or pass and achieve a limited or complete understanding of the Etude and therefore that specific level of magic.
