APPEARANCE:Gale is a generally averagely built young woman. Her weight and height are only a little bit lower than the average, as she stand at about 5'2" and weighs a light 110 pounds. Gale has slender limbs and a clearly defined waistline, making her look like she would be flexible or athletic. The build of her body doesn't however contribute to athleticism as much as it does to her general weakness. The strongest part of her body are her deftly trained piano fingers which can glide across a piano gracefully while still being powerful.
Gale's skin is a very pale color, almost making the child look somewhat sickly in certain light, which makes her slender face look a little sad, as if she were emaciated. To further the somewhat weary look of the little girl her hair is void of color and her eyes can be anything from gray to a redish color when she's tired. Because her skin is so fair Gale burns easily and tries to avoid the sunlight as much as she can, meaning that she never tans in the slightest.
PERSONALITY:Once Gale used to be a happy and determined child, but she went through a great change in her life that seemed to drain most of the emotions from her. Rarely you can see her expressing a satisfaction at finishing a task, mastering a spell, or something of the like, but it never appears to be an honest deep down joy that she expresses. Many people whisper of how she is a 'dead walking' because she can't seem to show even some of the most basic emotions truthfully, but nor does she feel the desire to fake them.
In her work environment Gale is very mature and polite, never seeming unfocused in any situation. The intelligence level of the young girl is the closest thing to a personality that she has, as she find she can get into detailed conversations with others as long as she has a subject she knows well to converse about. This desire for information is one of her last childhood personality traits, curiosity, that manages to shine through beyond the deep changes in her life.
BIOGRAPHY:Her name was Enya Errin and she was a brilliant young woman. By the age of 20 she had made a place for herself within the city of Symphony, known by all to have a healing touch and a forgiving heart. The young woman was so understanding in fact that she was known to her neighborhood as being a sort of therapist, helping anyone with any problems they may have experienced. This devotion to others seemed to bring a true joy into Enya’s life and she soon found she wanted a family of her own to pamper and love unconditionally, so she finally decided to have a child with her lover of 7 years. Soon the woman was given exactly what she wished, having a little girl whom she named Gale. Years of peace and happiness came after and Gale grew into an awkward young woman.
Compared to her mother the child’s personality would always pale in comparison, but Gale took mental notes as she grew up on how to be more like her beautiful and inspiring mother. When the child was five she watched her mother being enlisted by the Sanctuary to become a muse, highly regarded practitioners and teachers of the main craft of the city. Needless to say the child was practically bursting with pride even if she didn’t really understand what was going on most of the time. Because her mother worked there, Gale was often taken to the academy as well and began to pick up on musical instruments as well as her mother’s craft of Harmony music magic. When Gale asked her mother what harmony was about she sat her daughter down and explained “music can heal the heart when it’s played right, child. I make music in a different way and if I try hard enough I can heal all their other hurts too.” After that day Gale devoted herself to becoming a brilliant student.
The piano in particular became a passion of Gale’s, as she found being able to create two parts of one piece all by herself an extremely satisfying experience. Gale also proved that she didn’t like only doing one thing at a time, multi-tasking becoming a way of life. Years began to pass rapidly while Gale was learning at the Sanctuary with her mother, the child learning harmony music magic at a much better pace than her mother’s students. Deep within harmony music magic was the potential to revive recently lost souls, which was something that not even her mother could do but Gale wanted to desperately. The child felt as if with the mastery of that spell she could conquer whatever she put her mind to. At the age of eleven however there was a sudden shift in her life that caused an entire change in lifestyle. This was when the crystal shattered and the first attacks on the city began.
No longer able to study at the sanctuary, it having been converted to serve the needs of the summoned warriors, Enya began to teach her daughter harmony magic at home when she wasn’t working. Gale continued to study music as well, finding that the flute was a nice compact instrument that she could play when she didn’t have access to a piano. During this time, while Enya was busy with the new purposes of the Sanctuary, Gale became closer to her father who she didn’t really know very well before due to his long work days. Enya was making enough money to support the family though so Gale’s father, Cian, decided he would cut back on his work hours so that he could take care of their child.
Cian was generally a normal father, caring deeply for his child, but he was certainly worried about her well-being. In order to assure that his daughter was ready for anything he enrolled her self defense classes that she never really seemed to excel at like she did with music. The child was somewhat clumsy and unaware of how to properly use her body to defend herself, usually leaving her more open than anything else. After a few months of trying to get his daughter to learn how to fight Cian gave up, saying that his baby was simply too delicate a flower and he didn’t mind being her body guard if he needed to. Gale began to grow as fond of her father as she was of her mother, bringing her world into a pleasant balance that she appreciated, though just as she was settled things took another horrid turn.
When the recitals came into the city Enya rushed to them, worried that the travelers would need some form of healing after their travels through the miasma. Gale didn’t like the concept of the strangers coming into the city though. She was fifteen by this time and was beyond her years enough to know that her mother was letting her heart rule her mind, so she hurried after to try and make sure nothing happened to her mother. The scene was peculiar to the young woman’s eyes as she watched the tribal people come into the city with who she could only assume was the chief leading them, a small shining shard in his outstretched hands. It was a piece of the crystal if Gale was seeing it right and seemed to be some form of peace offering.
Gale’s memory gets a little fuzzy as she tries to recall the exact details of that day, but she remembers vividly this scene:
A green haired boy seemed to have an exchange with the chief before bolting out of the ranks of his people. The boy looked somewhat crazed to Gale’s eyes as she watched him run towards them. Towards her mother. Gale let out a cry, telling her mother to get somewhere safe, because she knew something horrible was about to happen. The boy’s cold eyes sent a shockwave of pain through Gale’s heart as she caught them for only a moment. The next thing the young woman remembered was watching the green haired boy wrap his arms about her mother. He screamed things that never reached her ears and there was a flash as the color drained from Enya’s face. Gale didn’t understand what happened beyond the fact that her mother suddenly looked beyond exhausted before the unthinkable happened. Gale remembered closing her eyes tight as the blood began to flow, trying to banish the image of her mother’s slit throat from her mind. The crazed boy shouted something else before running off into the city, leaving a slight trail of Enya’s blood.
After that day Gale changed dramatically. She became somewhat pliant and mostly emotionless, not even showing proper affection to her own father anymore. Oddly enough though, Gale changed her last name from her mother’s maiden name to her father’s last name, never explaining why when her father tried to understand. Before a month had passed the Sanctuary found itself in dire need of a harmony music teacher, but no one knew it well enough to teach it who was of age. Finally the school caved and begged Gale, a child of 15, to teach until a more suitable muse could be found. She agreed without any show of emotion.
