i could hear it coming like a serenade of sound The Polyphony Center was bustling with people of every kind. Two stories, crammed full of shops with everything you could imagine. Some sold trinkets, others sold questionable items. Smells from food vendors drifted through the Center, luring the unwary shopper to his sugary doom. Beats from the Sanctuary huddled around tables outside of shops and tones from all over town could be seen buying merchandise in the great shopping center.
Staring with wide eyes at one of the more questionable shops, a young siren stood stock-still. The feathers mixed in with her hair were fluffed up in confusion as she eyed the things the store had on display, "Ummm..." The siren slowly turned around, her eyes flitting from one thing to another in total confusion and she hummed her discomfort.
Elle had, just recently, been revived and transported to Symphony by the elegies. Her world, a world focused on magic and growth with only a vague notion of the technology, was very different from this world. Very different indeed... Elle thought with a tilt of her head as she puzzled the stores around her. The shine from the lights washed out her ocean colored eyes until they were the shade of the foam on a wave.

Now today was supposed to be a day filled with work for Theo. (Which meant teaching little “brats” music magic, not that all of them were really that little). But! He’d managed to squeeze out of it. Oh yes he did. That meant fun! Running around the four districts (not so much Bass though and Strings was boooooring) and looking for something fun to do or see. But, like always, the reason he had managed to skip out on school was because he was supposed to be looking out for lost freshmen. Eh, if he finds them along the way, sure he’ll help. If not, oh bother ~ He wasn’t going to start trying to look for ‘em.
… would he?
Theo took a seat on the top of a table, ignoring the protests of those who were eating at it, and thought about it for as long as he could … which was less than half a minute. ”Ha! I got it!” He thought, jumping off of the table, causing it to shake violently. The poor people who’d been eating there yelled at him and, in response, he gave them a salute (thinking that they were fans of his or something) before taking off again.
Had he been a dog, they would notice how his tail was pretty much wagging the entire time as he zipped through Percussion District. He had decided that maaaaybe he would go find them, but he’d turn it into a game so he wouldn’t get bored so easily. Looking for someone he hadn’t met sure looked like fun, especially with his general difficulty of seeing. A game always made things interesting though. Plus, it did manage to keep his attention for far longer than most things would.
He tugged on the red wrap around his eyes, determined to at least find one stranger to this land. ”Now, if I were someone who didn’t know where the heck I was going, where would I be?” He cupped his hands into little hand binoculars and looked around. Bah. It was just the usual excitement. Nothing he’d really care for. Oh well. He’d make it exciting. One way or another.
That’s when he spotted an awkward brunette. (More like she passed by him and didn’t even take notice of him, something that Theo didn’t quite like.) Now that’s a strange sight to see in the bumbling fun that is Percussion district! He must investigate. As quietly as he could, he followed after her. He tip toed after her, stopping ever so often to hide behind something whether it is a bush, or a side of a building, or even a person. It was pretty ridiculous to those who might have watched them. It wasn’t until she stopped that he activated his plan.
Theo motioned to grab her from behind. ”Gwahahaha ~ ! That’ll teach you for ignoring me! ” He grinned widely.

i could hear it coming like a serenade of sound Elle was not the kind to notice her surroundings, even when she was being followed. As she glanced through stores and marveled at new things she never thought to look back once. Even when people started giving him funny looks, Elle never noticed the man behind her, apparently stalking her. When she stopped to examine a particularly odd store, with weird images and objects, her thoughts, This can't be what it looks like... right?... Very different indeed... were suddenly interrupted.
"AHHHH!"
Elle skrieked, loudly, as she felt somebody grab her from behind. When the eyes of other shoppers landed on her in confusion, she was too panicked to take notice. Her heart beat wildly in her chest as she froze in place. Last time somebody had grabbed her, it had been soldiers... Bad guys. Where was her hero?! No, she thought stubbornly, like a little kid, I am the hero now! And, with that in mind, she swung her elbow back with all intents to hit her captor right in the diaphragm. Unfortunately, she was much too short to reach and her elbow ended up landing squarely on her captor's hip bone, a very bony hip bone.
"Owwww..." Pain lit up her arm like a firework as her funny bone hit a bone she didn't find funny at all. With a defeated sigh, Elle relaxed into her captors arms, "Just take me away. I give up, you win," Elle said in a soft, lilting voice, sighing again, "I am no match for your strength..."

To say that the school had simply 'slipped up' was a dramatic understatement. Theo of all people. Llyr sighed and rubbed his temples, knowing that he was going to need every last shred of energy for his day. Theo. They sent Theo Trio to go find a lost student. Did any of the administration even know Theo? A groan escaped Llyr's lips as he realized he could have been back in his office practicing his Lyre instead of navigating the entire city in a fruitless search effort. Knowing Theo he wasn't even making the most effort he could to find the student they sent him after. That made Llyr want to bury his face in his hands. At the very least Llyr figured the polyphony center would be a good place to start looking, even if it was rather large. It would be just like Theo to be here though. Llyr paused and looked at his surroundings, trying to look past people in his way, but he still couldn't see the tale-tell blond hair he was looking for. Sure there were blonds, but not Theo blonds. No spazz blonds.
Frowning, Llyr looked again and hoped he might catch sight of Theo, but he didn't quite. Instead Llyr caught the sight of the peculiar young Siren who Theo was supposed to be finding. Llyr sighed his relieve and began to walk over towards her, not worried that she was half across the mall because at least--- "Oh sour note no. No no no." Llyr's eyes widened as he watched the figure of Theo come up from behind her. On one side, it was wonderful that he was doing his job, but on another... Theo! Llyr took a deep breath, ready to shout to the young Siren, but it was too late. Theo came at her from behind, frightening her enough to make her cry out. Covering his eyes, Llyr let out a sigh. This was just lovely. Theo scaring the students certainly wasn't helpful to their all-over goal.
Trudging over with purpose now, Llyr cried to Theo, "Put that student down right now!" It had been a long time since Llyr had actually scolded someone. He didn't like to be the bad-guy or anything even remotely close to it, but it was all he could do about Theo. He was such a flake. So intimidating. Those two years of age difference were really enough sometimes to make Llyr feel like he was Theo's father. That was a frightening concept to the muse and he quickly shook it off in favor of paying attention to the present. Once Llyr got close enough he placed a stern hand on Theo's shoulder and shook his head. "Let the student go. This is no way to find the young woman and bring her back to the academy. You scared the wits out of her."
After finishing with Theo, Llyr separated him from Elle and gently took her by the shoulders, casting a smile to her face. In order though to be at a more even level, Llyr leaned down and asked softly, "Are you alright? Theo here didn't mean to startle you I'm sure. We're both from the Sanctuary." Llyr knew that his serene looks were sometimes helpful for calming people and he was certainly hoping it worked that way now. It was distressing to think that their students could be unhappy with where they were, even though a great many of them did no matter what the school or the muses did about it. Llyr still felt pangs of guilt over it, even if the deserters were supposed to be enemies of sorts to him. "We were sent to make sure you weren't lost."

Theo laughed as he heard her shriek. It was hilarious. She really didn’t see this coming? Oh, he could from a mile away, and he was nearly blind. This was just too amusing. He’d have to try this again. It was fun.
He blinked somewhat worriedly when she began rubbing her arm. Sure, he felt something hit him, but he didn’t expect her to try to hit him back. Surprisingly enough, it didn’t occur to him that someone would consider this harassment. After all, this was pretty amusing to him and that was all that mattered to him in the end. Er, other than the fact that none of his games, pranks, things never hurt anyone … intentionally. ”Are you alright?” He asked sounding both amused and worried.
… of course, that’s what he saw. The old man with the appearance of a younger adult … person. The lead muse and all that pizzazz. Pfft. He always had to spoil his fun. And they were just getting acquainted too! How rude of him to interrupt! Besides, it wasn’t as if he was hurting her (more like she hurt herself, really). And! Most of all, he was doing his job for once! Shouldn’t he be congratulating him! … wait, she was the student they were looking for? ”Sweeet! I was right!” He said to himself with a grin.
Instead of letting her go as Llyr asked him to, he snuggled up to her, rubbing his head against her hair. All fluffy and stuff. It was really, really nice. She has really nice conditioner or whatever. ”It’s waaay to nice like this though, Llyr! It’s sooo fluffy!”
”B – b – but! She was asking for it! Really!” He pouted like a scolded child, never letting go of his hold on her. He found it rather comfortable actually. It was nice. You know, hugging someone from behind. It did help that she was such a shorty. He rested his chin on her head and his grip grew a little tighter around her but not tight enough to actually hurt her, just enough to hold her from moving anywhere. He didn’t want to accidentally fall or anything if she moved suddenly. Besides, she was warm and warm was good in his mind. Very nice. … at least until Llyr had to tear him away from her.
His pout only grew bigger. It wasn’t his fault she was an easy target. He couldn’t help it. It was just so perfect and she was just asking for him to do that. Really. So, he took another tactic, complaining. ”She didn’t take notice of a teacher. Not even a hello.” He moved a hand to wipe away a few crocodile tears. ”I was so depressed.”

i could hear it coming like a serenade of sound Elle watched, more than slightly confused, as two total strangers seemed to argue over her. The one with blue hair seemed familiar slightly, as if she had glimpsed him somewhere before but she still hadn't caught sight of her captor. Where have I seen him before?... Well... I, uh, have seen a lot of people. Is he one of the elegies?... No, I think I would remember... Oh! He's from... um... what's it called... the academy thing? Ceremony... Stanza... Monastery... Erg... Elle pondered the name, spacing out for a moment. Safe to say, she never was the most alert of the bunch.
While Elle spaced out, stumped on a single word, her captor and the blue haired man were busy having a conversation... Sorta. The siren kind of registered that the blue haired man seemed to be in charge and was scolding her captor, who was hugging her tightly now. When her captor began to nuzzle her hair, Elle snapped out of her daze. Her whole face matched the color of her scarlet shirt as blood rushed to it. Was he... cuddling her?! Elle was torn; did bad guys even know how to cuddle?! And would he be offended if she tried to escape?
Elle's head spun with confusion and she was very relieved when the blue haired man pulled her away from her captor, "Are you alright? Theo here didn't mean to startle you I'm sure. We're both from the Sanctuary." "Sanctuary!" Elle stated, happily, and hugged the blue haired man with relief, both that she had finally found the word and that he had saved her, "I'm so glad you saved me!" Her head, as short as she was, came to about mid-chest on the blue haired man and when she stopped hugging him she had to step back and tilt her head to give him a smile, "I thought I was a goner! He just came out of nowhere and grabbed me!" Elle smiled sweetly, her expression sincere and innocent. She was a siren without guile, having never been exposed to anything harsher than a lovesick centaur.
Suddenly, the blue haired man's word sank in. He said she was lost and they were here to find her. But she wasn't lost really... "Lost? I'm not..." her eyes, the color of a calm sea, widened as it occurred to her, "Today was supposed to be must first day, wasn't it? Oh, I'm so sorry to have caused you trouble. I am really sorry. I simply forgot I was supposed to go to the Sanctuary today..." Elle babbled on, looking up apologetically at the blue haired man. She turned around to face her captor and began to apologize to him too, "I am really sorry for trying to hurt you but you startled me and I really don't know how I feel about you hugging me and you really shouldn't sneak up on people but I guess you're a teacher or something and I promise not to hit you again unless of course you try to attack me or something but you would probably win because everybody here is so tall like you and I'm just short and..." Getting quieter and redder as she went, Elle just babbled on until she finally came to a stop and hid her face in her hands, red from fluffy head to taloned toe.

Sometimes Llyr just wanted to throw his hands up in defeat and run off when it came to Theo. He certainly was a handful and with such a short attention span it made Llyr wonder how he even managed to learn Aria magic. But no, Llyr corrected himself, there was more to Theo than just his short attention span. Llyr sighed silently and focused back on what he was doing. Theo seemed so overjoyed that he got the right young lady and prying him away from... cuddling... her was a little less difficult than he thought it would be. That didn't exactly stop his fellow muse from pouting a little. Llyr would make a note to tell the administration not to send Theo on such a task again. Clearly he wasn't the most focused person.
Then once he had told Elle who they were she looked so relieved. In a burst, when she decided to hug him, Llyr smiled warmly. He couldn't hold back the chuckle when she said that he had saved her. That was certainly an interesting way of putting it, but Theo did have a certain charm about him that made people need 'saving'. Llyr laughed a little more at the concept and patted the girl on the head once she had retracted from the hug. It was slightly amusing to see the innocence in her smile and it seemed to put Llyr to ease as well. It was unfortunately rare to see such a pure innocence and he didn't want to ruin that in any way. The way that the child babbled under pressure was simply adorable, but Llyr couldn't let her be flustered for too long. Putting a hand upon her head, as if resting it there, Llyr looked to Theo with his best stern look. The real reason that Llyr wanted to keep his hand on the child's head is so Theo wasn't tempted to go all cuddly again.
"So here's the case. You, little one, made an understandable slip up. We don't mind. Just be sure to ask if you're confused on when your days in school are and make sure that you report back to the dorms before it's too late. We'd hate to see you getting lost in the city late at night," Llyr tried not to sound too overbearing to the young woman. She was startled enough by Theo's antics, she didn't need to be worried by a muse's ranting and scolding as well. Llyr tried to pair his softer tone with the slightest of smiles. It was exclusively for the young woman and he was sure to make it appear so.
Then there was Theo. His serene stare shifted to his fellow muse and he frowned just slightly. Theo wasn't a bad person of course, just hard to get a handle on sometimes. The blond was all over the place, sometimes seeming to be in so many places at once, and it made it hard for Llyr to understand what was beneath the surface. What motivated Theo? What made him happy? ... Other than anything that was soft, sparkly, shimmering, ect. "Theo," Llyr started carefully, "I believe you owe this young woman an apology, do you not? You scared the wits out of her and she deserves a proper sorry." Sometimes Llyr felt like the parent of the entire academy, especially when it came to Theo or sometimes Marshell. Llyr let out a sigh and felt extremely weary when he thought what it would be like if both of them got in one of those moods together at the same time.

His lips twitched as the girl started to apologize to him. He couldn’t help it. She was just too sweet and she was just being way too adorable right now. He couldn’t keep up the crocodile tears, (not that he could for very long, knowing that Llyr was pretty much immune to it). Instead, he barely fought the urge to just go up to her and pinch those bright rosy cheeks! (Meaning, yes, he actually did pinch them, pushing away the girl’s hands if he needed to. ” How cuuuuute ~ ! Why can’t all freshmen be this adorable, Llyr?”
”Ehhhhhhhh?! Apology?” He looked up at the young – old man with a pout. ”She wasn’t that scared, Llyr! She’d wet herself if she was.” He complained, tongue in cheek. She couldn’t be that scared of him. Who could be scared of him that badly? He was cuddly as a teddy bear! People can’t be scared of him. He hasn’t used any musical magic yet. So … So … They should like him. Yeah. ‘cause he’s all nice and cuddly. Not scary as Llyr’s led to believe. Still, he supposed he did surprise her. Just a little bit. And she did her hurt herself trying to hitting him, which he had a hard time suppressing a few chuckles from the thought alone. ”I guess I’ll say I’m sorry. But! Only if you let me take you out on a date.” He said with a playful wink. Hopefully, she didn’t get anything too bad from it. He was being oddly honest for now. He’ll be (for the most part) a gentleman the entire time. ”I’ll so ya I could be nicer than, Mr. Grumpy there. And, get ya to learn about Symphony in a much funnier way than him.” He grinned down at her like a puppy wagging their tail frantically.
It just occurred to him. Why was the old young serious guy doing here in the first place? Wasn’t he supposed to be working or something boring lake that? Today was a school day after all, that meant that they had work. Today, his (although he usually did not do it) was to find silly little beats who’d got lost. ”Ah! What are you doing here anyways, Llyr?” He asked. ”Did ya scare away your students?” He didn’t think there were very many beats that made it to his stage of magic. Perhaps, there were regular tones, but rarely beats. At least, that he was aware of. That magic was so annoyingly long to cast though. It was more of a bother to say it in his weird little head.
“Can we make a pit stop before we head back to Sanctuary, Llyr?” He asked, not exactly liking the idea of heading back to school to do the job he was actually paid to do. To teach. “I donno. Maaaaaaybe we could get some ice cream? Or candy? Sweets? Pastries? Food? Drinks?” Anything sounded good at the moment. Anything that wasn’t Sanctuary or teaching. They had been looking around for a while. It was a good enough time to have a snack.

i could hear it coming like a serenade of sound As Llyr scolded her, Elle literally lost her voice from shame. She couldn't remember the last time she had forgot something so important! Wait... Isn't that just a sort of forgetting too? GAHH. She thought, tugged on a strand of her curly hair in frustration. Elle was good at forgetting things, whether they were names, or appointments, or birthdays, or the day of the week, or what she was suppose to be doing, or what she was saying... The list went on and on. Elle was sure she couldn't even remember everything she always forgot...
However, when Theo pinched her cheeks, the blushed instantly drained from Elle's face and she glared up at him, her small hands balled into fists. When she tried to tell him to cut it out, she voice only came out as a squeak. After a couple more attempts, her voice started coming out normal, but by then Theo had already stopped pinching her and was talking to Llyr literally over her head.
As Elle looked back and forth, she wondered why she had found Theo or Llyr scary. "Probably because you guys are a million miles tall..." She muttered softly, pouting. In her world, everybody wasn't nearly so tall... But the two Muses weren't all that scary now. They were kind of... funny. Elle hid a smile in her hand as Theo wondered why he need to apologize. Llyr was like a parent, and Theo the unruly child.
As Elle looked up at Theo, waiting for an apology from him, she was utterly surprised at his request, "A-a date?" She asked, looking confused. Her eyebrows pulled together quickly to make a little dent in her forehead and the soft down feathers in her hair ruffled unsettlingly. For what seemed like minutes, Elle's ocean blue eyes stared up at Theo. Then she slowly circled him, as if looking for some miraculous sign or maybe she just thought a spider had landed on him... When she circled back to face him, she had a determined set to her chin, "I have decided," she stated simply, looking entirely too serious for somebody so small and poofy, "I have decided that I will only go on a date with you if you sing for me. I could never date somebody who couldn't sing, even if it was just one date." Elle smiled up at Theo, charming and friendly, the first sign that showed she was more than just a cute face.

Llyr threw his hands up in defeat, letting out a frustrated sigh. If there was one thing that he couldn't handle with his usual grace it was most certainly anything that Theo did. The man had not only startled a newer student, but he also seemed to have the desire to cross another line. Asking a student on a date? No! That was absolutely 100% against the rules. The girl looked like she could be Theo's daughter! "Theo!" Llyr managed to stutter out only his name before things began to get away from him. The muse was tired. He didn't know what he could do when Theo got like this and he was beginning to think he shouldn't care. Theo would do as he wished no matter what Llyr did or said. There was absolutely no containing that man and the lead muse knew it all too well.
To make the rest even more uncomfortable, Llyr was called grumpy. Grumpy? He actually felt a little hurt over it. Letting his gaze fall to the floor, Llyr listened to the other two interact. Elle challenged Theo to sing, which certainly wouldn't be a challenge the young man could turn down. It was in Theo's nature to be the showy kind of person. "This is so vastly wrong. So so vastly wrong. Against the academy rules most certainly," Llyr mumbled to himself quietly. The muse couldn't seem to contain himself, which was out of character. Perhaps everything else was finally just overwhelming him and he couldn't keep his wits, he thought with the slightest of frowns.
When Theo asked if he scared away his students Llyr finally snapped. Looking up with a glare and his fists shaking at his sides, Llyr started, "Oh you'd like to know what happened to my students? Do you really, Theo? I don't have any! There isn't a single student at my level yet so I don't teach anyone. Absolutely no one has the ability to command magic as ruinous or world-endingly powerful as mine. Do you feel better now?!" The anger in his voice was wrapped about every single word, laced with a pain that no one really knew about. Llyr was tired. He didn't want to continue with his responsibilities or frustrations and this was the first time he released any of it. Now was an awful time, in front of a new student, but Llyr had reached his wits end. "Now if I am no longer needed I'm going to go back to my office." The anger had all fled from Llyr's voice by the time he spoke again and all that was left in it's place was a cold indifference.
If only Theo had not carefully struck his, The Sea's, only weakness.

( ooc: Pffft. You're looking at a master at procrastination! -thumbsup- On a more serious note sorry for taking so dang long and posting something really short. ><;;;;; )
He nodded quickly. "Yup! A date!" He looked down at her expectantly hoping that she would say yes ... And maybe to annoy Llyr a bit like he knew it would.
Theo grinned like a cat with a bird in his jaws. He almost expected her to say no to his request. Afterall, it wasn't something most people would agree to. A date with a complete stranger ~ What did they teach the kids these days? Then again, he was a teacher and a pretty good guy if he could say so himself. Just a simple challenge of singing, he'd get his chance? This was just soooooo easy! He'd go over board for sure and do something amazing! Just what song, what song should the muse sing? "Well, if you insist, then I must!" He said, waving his arms in joy. It's been a while since he just sang, like, just for fun ... And a date too, of course! "It's been a while he'd agree, so I've got to go and see / why a pretty gal like you is wandering aimlessly~ / It's dangerous you know, to wander all alone. So / how nice are guys like we to find you so easily!" He continued on adding bunches more silly impromptu rhymes that were sure to make the girl blush. That was his specialty after all!
He gasped loudly seeing that he'd just driven one of the very few people that tolerated his nonsense begin to walk away. Of course he would have to take action! Without even thinking (simething he didn't do much of anyways) he'd flung himself at the young-old man's leg, clinging onto it as if his life depended on it. His eyes were filled oh tears Nd he was practically sobbing uncontrollably. "Nooooooooo! Don't go, Llyr! I was just joking!" He said as he rubbed his face against Llyr's pant leg. It was sure to bring about the attention of others. "R-right? He sailed looking over to their student in hopes that she'd agree with him.

i could hear it coming like a serenade of sound Elle watched immensely seriously as Theo began to sing. She was ready to hear something wonderful or horrible, and judge it accordingly. That is, until she heard Theo's song. It was silly and embarrassing, causing Elle to blush a bright scarlet. She shut her eyes tight and covered them with the palms of her hands.
When the song was over, the siren looked up at the supposed teacher through her fingers, "Umm... I'm not so sure I can go on a date with you. Your song wasn't... um... compatible." Elle shook her head and hid her face again, waiting for the warmth of the blush to disappear and also to hide the lie. The truth was, Elle just wasn't sure how much more of Theo's silly comments she could handle. He reminded her too much of a centaur she used to know, one that was full of trouble until he got turned to stone.
Llyr's anger cut sharply into the situation, causing Elle to blush all over again. She hadn't even considered the fact that Theo was a teacher. He just didn't act like one at all! Theo acted young and silly, like somebody much younger. Younger than Elle, who, despite looking young, was all of eighteen and had a birthday coming up soon. Her height and cute appearance caused people to assume that she was much younger than she actually was.
She shifted her ocean-blue gaze to Llyr, her sharp ears filled with the anguish and frustration she heard reverberate through every syllable that the muse spoke. Elle watched him yell at Theo and heard his drop off into indifference. "Such pain... It's okay." Elle quietly placed her hand in Llyr's, an innocent gesture meant to calm him, "I promise I'll soon reach your level so you won't be so lonely. It's not fair to you, having to handle all of that by yourself. No one should have to feel like that." The voice was a magical instrument and Elle's especially so. It was filled with love and acceptance, laced with determination, and edged by a sorrow that knew how Llyr felt.
Elle tilted her head all the way back to look at the sky, her gaze distant. Her eyes had changed color, gaining a stormy sea blue, dark and hard to read. The siren looked back down to earth and smiled, releasing Llyr's hand and looking seriously at Theo, who was clinging to Llyr's leg like a puppy. She frowned slightly and pushed all of her hair back with her hands, securing it all in a ponytail. That one act caused her scent to fill the air for just a second; beach-grown lavender and a fresh ocean-breeze, like a beautiful day on the coast. Determination lined her brows and she smiled faintly down at Theo, "I will take you up on your joke date, because I don't want to get lost again and I would really appreciate it if you would show me around. If it wouldn't be too much trouble."
"I have to go now, but I promised you and I won't forget," Elle stated, looking closely at Llyr. She flashed the two teachers a bright, charming smile one last time before turning and disappearing into the crowd of people in the mall, leaving only a faint echo of her voice and her seaside scent behind her.

It took Llyr a few moments to fully realize the extent of how he had let himself go. Such an oversight of emotional control made Llyr look on himself wish shame and anger. It wasn't right of him to lose himself like that because he needed to be the pillar of consistency for the rest of the muses. To get upset at Theo of all the muses only furthered how inexcusable it really was. Theo was the one that Llyr felt concerned over quite often. He and Gale were the two muses he felt he needed to guide the most. Protect the most. Certainly Theo was a man who could control his life how he wanted, but the way he acted often did concern Llyr.
Then the lead muse felt Elle's soft hand in his and heard her soft words in his ears and suddenly he was calm again. Her sincerity was refreshing, but he fretted silently about such an innocent child actually working to get to his level of magic. Would she be able to control it? Though in the end the only one he could trust with such magic would probably be someone such as the Elle, a child with an innocent heart and good intentions even for 'grumpy old Llyr'. He watched her for a moment before suddenly realizing what Theo was doing. The muse certainly wasn't shy, he could tell that much. Theo had thrown himself at Llyr, casting his arms about his leg while working up a sob. It was hard to focus on the kind young woman when there was a young man wrapped about his leg, but Llyr stared as her as she left, wondering where she was really going.
Once she was gone Llyr felt Theo rubbing his face up against his leg, the wet tears soaking through his pant-leg rather awkwardly. It was at that point that Llyr realized people looking over as they walked by and the lead muse decided it was about time he stopped Theo from embarrassing himself in public. Llyr let out a sigh and placed his hand upon Theo's head, muttering, "Come on now. Get up. We've things to do and we can't waste all our time standing about the mall." That was Llyr's way of saying it didn't really matter. It wasn't an apology for getting so flustered, but it was the closest he would come.
The elder muse didn't want to dwell on his shortcomings for very long because he was still somewhat mystified by the young Elle and her innocent smile Her scent even still hung in the air after she had left. Rolling his eyes, Llyr smiled slightly and repeated, "Get up already Mr. Trio."

His grin fell the instant he heard her. The words “not compatible” echoed in his mind. Not compatible. Not compatible. …. Not compatible?!? He was dumbstruck. Why wouldn’t it be? He was good right? There wasn’t any flaws. He hadn’t made any mistakes. It can’t have been because he was a bad singer, was it? Or was he just that good? … then again, she wouldn’t have spoken if he had been right? He didn’t understand. Just what did he do wrong? (Of course he was too heartbroken by the comment to notice that she was bright red and probably embarrassed from his words.)
The spazzy blond didn't even notice whatever was going on between the two people who were (currently) hovering above him. He was much to busy making sure that Llyr wasn't leaving ... at least not angrily. He really didn't mean to touch a nerve. His stuff was the hardest to learn and took plenty of patience (something Theo was never good at). "They can't be your student 'cause they ain't good 'nuff." He mumbled into Llyr's leg, still crying.
With tears in his eyes, he looked up to Elle as she directed her attention on him. He sniffed. There was sure to be all sorts of snot dripping over Llyr’s leg now … not to mention, he did use it at a tissue as Elle spoke. He blinked, not quite sure of what she was hearing. Was she … ? She took his offer! He grinned widely again, completely forgetting the tears and snot gripping down his nose (well, almost, he did manage to remember it enough to rub on Llyr’s pant leg again) and would have tackled the young woman into a hug if she hadn’t disappeared on them.
Theo didn’t even realize he was still holding on tightly to Llyr’s leg if it wasn’t for the pat on the head. She disappeared so suddenly after all. He laughed awkwardly, but got up anyways. ”I’m up!” He grinned looking at the direction the siren had gone. If it wasn’t for the lingering scent (which he would have decribed as “pretty”), he might not have remembered the reason why they came there in the first place. ”Hey…. Shouldn’t we like follow her if she gets lost again?”

Once Theo jumped up Llyr realized the sacrifice his pants had made. Theo's little breakdown had gotten him rather... soaked. With a sigh the elder muse shook his head and tried to disregard the fact that his leg felt funny. Looking to Theo, Llyr couldn't entirely contain the fact that he was surprised at what the muse said. Theo never was very good at staying on topic so when he mentioned that they should be making sure Elle didn't get lost he stood there for a moment mystified. Theo always was good at jumping from emotion to emotion, but seeing the man actually jumping onto the proper topic...
Llyr took a few moments to recover whilst turning his gaze to the direction the student disappeared in. "She said she had something to do. I'd like to assume she knows what she's doing if that's the case but perhaps you should chase after her. I still have things to do today and can't really go on another hunt. Especially not with the most easily distracted muse of the bunch." Llyr looked to Theo blankly, waiting to see what the man did. It was true for the most part that Llyr had other things to do, but to a certain extent he knew that he couldn't face that child again.
Elle had a sweet heart and good intentions, but Llyr was worried about her getting to his level. If she were to get that high in the ranks her innocence might take the hit from it. Forbidden magic wasn't just named as much to sound cool. It was dangerous and took severe focus to control. Even Llyr worried sometimes that he wasn't cut out for it. Sometimes the man felt so weak and young. Hopeless. The blue haired man ran his fingers through his hair and looked once more towards where Elle disappeared. "So what will you do Theo?"
In truth, Llyr wanted the boy to follow Elle. Where Llyr wasn't very good at making others laugh Theo was and perhaps that would be a good thing for Elle. Llyr wanted the best for the pleasant young woman and hoped that she would find it. It would be ideal of course if she could maintain her innocence in the process, but at the very least Llyr would make sure the child didn't push herself too hard. If sending Theo after her would do that then that was a sacrifice he would have to make. Even if he still wasn't fond of the idea at all.
