APPEARANCE:
Everything about Hyacinthe's appearance toes the line between elegant and dangerous. Outside of the vague sexuality her appearance carries, there is a striking nonchalance underlining her features, clothing, and demeanor. However, what is most noticeable is the slightly dangerous aura she seems to exude; the cut of her eyes can easily seem more angered than apathetic if her attention is on someone.
Hyacinthe's perpetually tired-looking eyes are a washed brown color, and the silver color of her robes often makes them seem grayish. She has a delicate, pointed nose and a small mouth and chin, which are framed by the distinctive white-colored hair that her entire family has. Her hair is cut into a bob from which a cowlick sprouts at the back of her head. She also has one very long lock sprouting from the back which hangs down to roughly the middle of her back, kept in check by an ornamental hair decoration.
Covering Hyacinthe's olive-colored skin are short shoulderless robes with a dark gray sash around them, and on each arm she has flowing sleeves tired by dark gray cord similar to the cord on her metronome. There is a train trailing down the back of her robe which features a dragon pattern similar to the ones on her left sleeve and the thigh-length silver stockings she wears on her toned legs. Finally, Hyacinthe wears tied cloth as socks, under which she wears tall platform sandals to counter her relatively short stature.
PERSONALITY:
Hyacinthe is an odd mixture between ice queen and airhead. While she tends to notice everything going on around her, it can be terribly difficult to get her attention once she's actually focused on something. And when one does get her attention, she is far from apologetic; she generally responds with a sharp, quiet anger as if the person interrupting her thoughts was the one being rude and inattentive. Hyacinthe's uses her wit like a surgeon uses a scalpel; she generally strays away from the funny side of things and does damage with her words.
That being said, “rude” interruptions are one of the few things that can anger Hyacinthe. She tends to remain cool under most situations, to the point of seeming cold even to those she respects or admires. This generally comes off as boredom due to the bored look she generally carries in her eyes. She keeps her emotions to herself, more as a force of habit than a conscious decision to keep things from people. She generally isn't an expressive person, and when she does have something to say, it often comes off as sarcastic or condescending, which isn't much helped by the proper, deliberate way of speaking she was taught.
BIOGRAPHY:
Hyachinthe was born the middle child to a rich and noble family, with an older sister and a younger brother both close in age. While her younger brother was talented, he was spoiled and generally chose to shirk his musical studies for the sake of being pampered by servants. As such, it was left to the two oldest girls of the family to learn magic and keep up the respected name of the d'Etoile family. While the family very much focused on Hyacinthe's sister Dahlia, the two sisters held a healthy rivalry as they grew into their teenage years, both prodigies in their own right.
Dahlia edged Hyacinthe out in black magic, mastering the Encore level at a much earlier age than anyone expected her to. However, Hyacinthe had mastered Tempo and Harmony magic much more completely, whereas Dahlia had more or less managed to learn just as much about them as she'd need to continue to perfect her black magic. When Hyacinthe began to catch up with comparable skill in Finale magic, however, their rivalry became unhealthy. At the same rate that Dahlia was beginning to condescend and belittle her younger sister, Hyacinthe was beginning to be more of a brat about what she was learning and how good she was at it. Their parents, to whom they were never particularly close, did nothing to curb this. The two of them had been put into a special school at a young age, learning more complex magic than most children their age, and as the years passed Hyacinthe's musical sensibility and versatility ended up edging out the focused skills that Dahlia had. While Dahlia had gone on to master Encore magic, she had let the more simple building blocks of the lower magic tiers slip from her mind, whereas Hyacinthe had a solid command over these basics as well as her Finale magic. Hyacinthe was more easily able to learn the complex arrangements they were being taught, and eventually, only she and three other students remained for the rest of that training. Dahlia and Hyacinthe cut off ties at that point.
Hyacinthe and the other three were then told that they were to be the new legendary mages and would continue to be trained for this duty. Hyacinthe was filled with a mixture of pride and entitlement, and she couldn't help thinking how angry Dahlia would be when she realized how close she had gotten to this opportunity and failed. However, this pride and happiness was quickly shattered when monsters made their way into the city. Feeling ill-prepared to handle something magic-involved for the first time in her life, a bitterness filled Hyacinthe. She and the other legendary mages pooled their ideas together, eventually deciding to use the requiem. Hyacinthe had no reservations about using this magic as she did not wish to believe that she was powerless to save the city. Showing nothing but apathy outside of her support for the idea, she joined the other mages to summon warriors who might lend their strength.
As they continued to summon warriors as a preventative measure, the people's opinion of the legendary four dropped steadily. Eventually they all had snarky, mean-spirited nicknames; it didn't take Hyacinthe long to realize that Dahlia had contributed to the ones she received. “Nightshade” was an alternate translation of her middle name, which not many outside the family knew. Silver Dragon, though it sounded less insulting, came from her younger brother calling her a Dragon Lady when they were younger. This was the corruption of a less scathing nickname which had quickly gone been forgotten: Silver Bell, which had come about due to the light jingling she would make while walking due to the bells on her fan. In the fashion of the "Lady Grim" title given to her fellow Elegy, however, the name that really stuck with the people of the city was Lady Stone. It fit just a bit too perfectly given her air of silence and apathy, and any range of modifiers would be placed before it: soulless, heartless, callous. With a bitterness she would never actually show, Hyacinthe accepted the name with the silent vow that one day,

SKILL(S):
Allegro - Very, very agile/flexible/nimble
Lyric - Has a way with words
POWER(S):
-Magic mastery up through Finale tier
-Nameless Elegy magic

WEAPON(S):
Hyacinthe has very unique ways of casting her magic. She uses a combination of her voice, her fan, and her shoes to make music and rhythms while dancing. She also uses a metronome at times, depending on the situation. She mostly uses this for tempo magic.
Voice – Hyacinthe's voice is trained to hold a note, but she can't sing anything terribly complex. She mostly uses her voice for rhythmic chants, but the fact that she can sing simple melodies gives her much more versatility, along with the other things she can use.
Fan – Hyacinthe uses a folding fan with a tree pattern on it and diamond-shaped paper trains coming off of the ends. On each of these diamonds is a small bell, and when she moves and flaps her fan they jingle, sounding like wind chimes.
Shoes – The bottoms of Hyacinthe's shoes are lined with a very hard material, which makes loud, percussive sounds if she steps hard enough. She uses this to make rhythms either through dancing or stomping.
Body – Hyacinthe is very skilled at keeping multiple rhythms on different parts of her body/while doing different things. For instance, while stomping one rhythm, she can clap another, or even tap one on her hip and snap another. This is the most important part of her magic use and what gives her her great versatility with magic.
Metronome – The metronome is perfectly weighed to swing at the same speed as long as Hyacinthe holds her hand perfectly steady. The tempo can be changed by allowing more slack in the line. Hyacinthe usually uses her voice along with the metronome to create tempo magic.
Violin – Hyacinthe generally saves her violin for extremely complex magic or, even more so, for magic done with the other Elegies. Hyacinthe is very skilled with her violin, as it was the first real instrument she ever picked up.
Hyacinthe also holds at least basic knowledge of most instrument families, and is proficient with viola and decent with cello.
Even though I kept going.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
"Lady Stone is coming out of that music school."
"Didn't her mother teach there?"
"Yeah. I think she stopped, though. Didn't want anyone to think he had anything to do with Lady Stone's involvement with the Requiem."
"If you whisper loud enough," said a third voice, sending a jolt through the two gossiping teenage boys, "they say Lady Stone can hear you." A jingle accompanying each step, she made her way out of the building. The boys faces looked like they were momentarily stuck somewhere between terrified and apologetic. Her own expression was tired, her eyes cut into a sleepy focus as she moved past the boys, deliberately not sparing them a glance the entire time.
It occurred to her that a great number of them didn't know her real name, whether by forgetting purposefully or mistakenly. It also occurred to her that the rest were showing an alarming amount of passive-aggressiveness in calling her Lady Stone. It was almost disgusting, mostly because she sincerely doubted any of them could make a rock shift on the ground with their magic, let alone create a powerful crystal to protect the town. But then, who else did they have to blame?
Themselves? She blinked. That train of thought always ended quickly. Of course they wouldn't make themselves stronger. That's what the government was for, right? Unfortunately, politics had no place in a city that needed protecting, and the strongest were the strongest. If the only people you have to look up to aren't doing enough, logic says to blame them. Put them on a pedestal and quell your guilt.
"Wouldn't Lady Steel have been more appropriate?" she mumbled to herself, a quick jump in thought processes. I daresay my clothes warrant more than a rock name. Undercutting this slightly out-of-character vanity was a sudden and sharp bitterness. She was mostly being sarcastic, but she couldn't help thinking that her mother had reacted unfavorably, even if the two teenagers were completely wrong about why she was at that building and how her mother had reacted to her position in society. Things to think about later, she supposed. For now, she had to figure out exactly where she was going.
She had managed to wander out of the String district and completely opposite the direction she needed to go. Lost in thought to the point of aimlessness yet again. She sighed to herself and took her metronome out. Without raising her eyes to her surroundings, she began to move it back and forth at a steady rhythm. Her voice sounded in slow, deliberate triplets around its movements, speeding up slowly with the metronome until it was at a lively pace. The entire time, though, it seemed that she was singing at the same speed; her body had sped up, everything around her seeming sluggish. This effect had been disorienting at first, since she would feel like she had to sing faster and faster; now using this magic was second nature to her, and she wouldn't make the mistake of continuing to try to go faster. She had sped herself up much too much one time, and it took a powerful Tempo master to prevent her from aging to death and get her back to normal. Quickly she made for her destination, hoping that her Haste Tempo would be enough to get there on time.
